In late October 2026, Prime Minister Vasile Tofan and Invest Moldova director Natalia Bejan held talks with more than 100 entrepreneurs from business clubs in Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa and Dnipro. Large companies were in the room too: ATB, Ukraine's largest retailer, the household goods maker Biosphere, and Kormotech, a regional leader in pet food. The Prime Minister's message was: "Come and invest in Moldova, produce here, create jobs and use our country as a platform for reaching Romania and the EU market."

We took the invitation seriously. From 28 October 2026, the whole DeschideCompanie.md site is available [in Ukrainian](/ua): the guides, the pages on all 37 industries, the registration form and the free tools. Below we explain why we did it and what a Ukrainian company needs to do to open a business in Moldova.

In short: an LLC (SRL) with a Ukrainian founder is usually registered through a power of attorney, and the director only needs to visit the bank in person.

## What the Prime Minister proposed to Ukrainian companies

Many of the entrepreneurs in the room, the Prime Minister wrote, see Moldova as an additional production and logistics platform that complements Ukraine. The Government wants to develop exactly that, and it measures the result in concrete terms: more factories, warehouses and logistics centres, more exports, more taxes paid here and well-paid jobs.

The example he gave was Nova Post. The company now has around 650 employees in Moldova and paid over 60 million lei in taxes in 2025. One of its two founders, Volodymyr Popereshnyuk, was born in Chișinău. The Prime Minister discussed new investment in logistics and transport infrastructure with Nova Post.

## Why we translated the site into Ukrainian

We want to play our part in what the Government has started. For us, that means what we know best: registering the company and the steps that follow. A company considering a factory or a warehouse in Moldova needs to understand from the outset how things work here, and that is easiest in its own language. A logistics director in Lviv or a founder in Dnipro can now find everything in Ukrainian and feel closer to us from the first contact.

We did not want machine translation. Every page was translated from the original and checked separately, and the texts are reviewed by a native Ukrainian speaker. We kept the terms a Ukrainian entrepreneur recognises: an SRL appears as "ТОВ (SRL)", the Ukrainian equivalent of an LLC, and the person running the company as "директор". And if you would like to work with a consultant who speaks Ukrainian, tell us when you first contact us: they will take over your file and remain your point of contact from start to finish, by phone, WhatsApp or Telegram.

## LLC or branch: how a Ukrainian company enters Moldova

A Ukrainian company has two routes: set up a Moldovan LLC, or open a branch of its own.

| | LLC with a Ukrainian founder | Branch of the Ukrainian company |
|---|---|---|
| Separate legal entity | yes | no |
| Who is liable for debts | only the LLC, with its own assets | the parent company |
| Name | you choose it | set by law: the parent company's name, its city, the word "sucursala" (branch) and the city in Moldova |
| Minimum share capital | none; we recommend starting from 100 MDL | no capital of its own |
| Documents from the parent company | constituent documents and the register extract | the same, plus the financial statements for the latest reporting period |
| Our service fee | from 2,000 MDL | from 4,000 MDL |

For a factory, a warehouse or a distribution centre, the LLC is usually the better choice: liability stays in Moldova, you choose the name, and banks and partners deal with it as they would with any local company. A branch, registered under Article 241 of the Civil Code, makes sense when a contract, a licence or a partner specifically requires one.

Not sure which form suits you? [Write to us](/en/#contact) and we will reply in Ukrainian.

To choose the right CAEM codes, see our pages on [warehousing and logistics](/en/industries/warehousing-logistics-courier-customs), [industrial manufacturing](/en/industries/industrial-manufacturing-metal-equipment), [the food industry](/en/industries/food-beverages-tobacco) and [wholesale trade](/en/industries/wholesale-distribution). A commercial warehouse, for example, needs no permit until it takes in food or goods under customs supervision.

## Documents from Ukraine: apostille and translation

On 13 December 1993, Moldova and Ukraine signed a treaty on legal assistance in civil and criminal matters, which entered into force on 24 February 1995. Article 15 provides that documents drawn up or certified by an authority of one country, bearing a seal and the signature of the authorised person, have legal force in the other country without any further certification. The same applies to certified copies and translations.

Under the treaty, a power of attorney signed before a notary in Ukraine and an extract from the Ukrainian register should not need an apostille. Before you order one, ask us: we will tell you what the notary and the Public Services Agency (ASP) accept in practice for your documents. A Romanian translation of the documents filed with ASP is still mandatory, and we take care of it.

If the founder is the Ukrainian company, the file includes its constituent documents and the extract from the state register, translated. If the founder is an individual, a passport and the power of attorney are enough. The full step-by-step list is in our guide to [registering a company as a foreign founder](/en/blog/register-company-foreign-founder).

## The bank account: the director comes to the bank

Registration is usually done through a power of attorney, without you having to come to Moldova, although this varies from case to case. The bank account is a different matter: at every bank in Moldova, the company's director must be present in person when the account is opened, and a representative cannot stand in for them. Our article on [opening a bank account for a non-resident's company](/en/blog/open-bank-account-moldova-non-resident) explains which documents banks ask non-residents for and how to prepare for the visit.

If you plan to sell in the European Union, also read [what a company in Romania means for access to the EU market](/en/blog/open-a-company-in-romania). For many businesses, the Moldovan company is the first step towards the Romanian market, not the last.

## Open your company in Moldova with us, in Ukrainian

We take care of the whole process: choosing the legal form (LLC or branch), drafting the founding documents, selecting the CAEM codes, providing the registered address, filing with ASP and going with you to the bank. For foreign founders we also obtain the personal identification number (IDNP), and we can take over your accounting from the first month. Our services and prices are on the [corporate services](/en/corporate-services) page.

[Write to us](/en/#contact) in Ukrainian, Romanian or English about what you want to produce or store, and where, and we will tell you which legal form suits you. The Ukrainian version of the site is at [deschidecompanie.md/ua](/ua).
